Cologne is especially known for its peculiar inhabitants, who hardly miss out on a party. The city is more open-minded than most other German cities. Dating here is easy. Meaning that once a year during Carnival season, the Rhine capital is in a state of emergency. At the same time, Cologne is a city with a rich history. There are many things to explore and lots of places to visit. A must-see attraction is the Cologne Cathedral, which is one of the most monumental buildings from the Middle-Ages and is considered one of the most impressive buildings in Germany. From there, one can take a beautiful stroll along the banks of the Rhine River. The wide river meanders through the city. A visit to the Cologne Brauhaus is where one learns why the tradition of drinking “Kölsch” beer in the city is ever so present, and why its tradition is being maintained in bars across the city.
