The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen has about 550,000 inhabitants. Germany’s smallest province has once been mocked as having the charm of a small village. Since then, a lot has changed. The city has gotten a major facelift and it has become more attractive to its inhabitants.
The University with its Science Park contributed to it as well as the new Aqua shopping mall or the ubiquitous local soccer club SV Werder Bremen.
Downtown, however you can still enjoy numerous other cultural activities such as the opera, theaters, or the well-preserved historic buildings.
